Banksy Returns To His Roots In Gaza

vendredi 27 février 2015

Just when you thought Banksy was starting to mellow he has made a grand reappearance in Gaza, and shared his new works with the world on his website .

Banksy has been an active part of the graffiti scene in Bristol since the 90s, but the series of images he painted on the side of the Israeli West Bank barrier back in 2005 made the world take notice. Since then he has made quite a chunk of change for himself and garnered famous fans like Brad Pitt, but his recent works simply haven't had the same political energy as those West Bank works.

Well, it seems Banksy has come full circle, and his return to overtly political street art has brought him back to that war-torn region that made him a household name.

The artist recently posted four new pieces on his website that he painted in Gaza, along with a satirical travel video possibly shot by Banksy himself.

One of Banksy's pieces includes this rather thought provoking message to the world:

If we wash our hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless we side with the powerful- we don't remain neutral.

Leonard Nimoy Once Gave Wonderful Advice to a Struggling Mixed-Race Teen

The internet is in mourning right now. Most of us never actually met Leonard Nimoy. But we feel his loss. Why? John Scalzi explains:

Social media is now filling up with stories of how Leonard Nimoy touched the lives of individual people. Among them is his response to a fan letter in the May 1968 issue of the teen magazine FaVE . In it, fan F.C. talks about the struggles that she experiences as an American who is half black and half white. Like Spock, she is divided and judged by both sides. Nimoy explained how the young Spock responded to this dilemma:

Spock decided he would live up to his own personal value and uniqueness. He'd do whatever made him feel best about himself. He decided to listen to that little voice inside him and not to the people around him.

Pool Table Gravestone

The gravestone for Leon and Sharon Gossett in Floral Hill Cemetery, Iroquois County, Illinois looks like a pool table . That's resting in both peace and style! All that's necessary is to pocket the last few balls and call the game.

Genius Invents the Ultimate Computer Workstation

Who is this kid? I don't know. But he has earned the respect of all humanity for devising the perfect way to use a touchscreen interface. It's the opposite of a treadmill desk. There's no more needless, wasteful expenditure of energy by remaining upright, or holding up your hands. Just like there, flat on your back, as nature intended.

Why People See a Different Colored Dress

(YouTube link)

Now that everyone is arguing over the color of a dress, AsapSCIENCE steps in to explain how people perceive and interpret colors differently. First impressions can be confusing, while knowledge that comes later can fill in some of the gaps. The upshot is that brain is an amazing organ that sifts through both information we have and information we don’t have to make sense of the world around us. -via Tastefully Offensive

Dogs And Babies So Cute You'll Want To Eat Them All Up!

Animals and children possess the power of inherent cuteness, a built in ador-ability that can soften the hardest hearts and elicit an "awww!" from those who aren't normally so free with their feelings.

With all that natural cuteness built into their tiny forms it would be crazy to give them more power over us, but that's what perfectly sane folks do every day when they dress their pets and babies up in food costumes!

Wrap a baby up in a burrito bunting and you've got a squee fiesta in the making

(Image Link)

Likewise, if you dress dogs up like fast food that happy meal pack of hounds will spread smiles wherever they go!

(Image Link)

It seems the power of the food costume works in conjunction with the cuteness level of the critter inside the costume to make them Taco Tuesday level irresistible

(Image Link)

Heck, even a dog with a crazy look on its face looks crazy cute when they're in a taco costume

(Image Link)

Babies in banana buntings are mighty a-peeling

(Image Link)

And dogs dressed like bananas look cutie-licious too, although they seem more slippery somehow

(Image Link)

It's bananas how delightfully banana-y little dogs look in banana costumes, totally bananas!

(Image Link)

Orange you glad I didn't say banana again?

(Image Link)

Speaking of orange- carrots are crunchy orange root vegetables you dig out of the ground, and nutritionists totally dig seeing babies sporting carrot costumes

(Image Link)

Although they'll settle for a toddler in a peanut suit if there aren't any baby carrots laying around

(Image Link)

Dogs and babies get along like peas in a pod

(Image Link)

So it's only fitting that they seem to share the same delicious sense of style

(Image Link)

Although a dog would never be caught dead wearing a piece of fruit!

(Image Link)

Tiny baby kids don't understand why grown up adults get such a kick out of seeing them all dressed up

(Image Link)

But that doesn't stop them from hamming it up for the camera, and acting like little turkeys whenever someone whips out a camera

(Image Link)

Of course, dogs don't know a thing about hamming it up, now do they?

(Image Link)

Dogs are willing to go to great lengths to keep their humans entertained, even boiling like a lobster in the sun for the sake of spreading smiles

(Image Link)

And even those who simply abhor wearing costumes will submit to some minor costuming to make their owner smile

(Image Link)

Babies and toddlers, on the other hand, just hang around looking cute, laughing right along with their silly parents while clogging melting all adult human hearts around them

(Image Link)

Unaware of the just desserts that await those who help keep grown up human folks entertained

(Image Link)

Because babies don't discover how cute they are until they're all grown up, when they finally discover why their parents were always talking about wanting to eat them all up!

(Image Link)

Hopefully these adorable images were enough to pull you out of the winter blues and slap a spring smile on your face, but if they didn't do the trick then you'll relate to this spring chicken!
